“Just as a woman’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.”-Virginia diOrio

“Every push was the right kind of push, every contraction I breathed downward… every possible fear I had I kept outside that delivery room. I had great support and was so thankful for everyone in that room. My husband was a rockstar and I didn’t yell at him or anyone for that matter. No cursing, no anger, no yelling just a lot of animal grunting noises J I am so happy and blessed to have had an amazing birth experience. “ Staci Thursby, Alpharetta Hypnbirthing Mother
Hypnobirthing classes are classes with a higher standard for birth preparation and companion training/involvement. Not only do they prepare you for birth with conditioning exercises and practice, the classes also give you the tools needed to have a more gentle and satisfying experience where your spouse can be just as involved as you and your baby. Nurses and Midwives often comment on the hypnobirthing parents being so calm and relaxed even during the most difficult times in labor and birth. Mothers who are 8 or 9cm and nearly complete never cease to surprise the people involved in their birth, “wow, I would have never known you were so far along, you are so relaxed” said a North Fulton nurse during a mother’s transition, and this is what I hear at close to 100% of the hypnobirths I am so privileged to attend.
Introducing all the birthing methods available today such as waterbirth, natural birth, hands on Birth Companion coaching and involvment training/practice, hospital choices and policies, where-when-who-why birthing choices, choosing a care provider, comfort measures and coping techniques, relaxation and breathing, working with all the senses and intuitively working with your baby, evidence based care, studies and statistics, resources, breastfeeding, baby wearing, immediate attachment, special circumstances, myths and misconceptions, parenting and baby care, holistic and alternative care options and so much more.
Our goal is to help parents fully experience the joy and power of birth by increasing their confidence in the normal process of birth.

Hypnobirthing is a fancy way of saying preparation, conditioning, visualization and relaxation. How do you properly prepare for birth, an extremely unpredictable event? What is your partners role during birth? In this five week series you and your partner become one with your baby, learning how to work together in your very unique roles. Your partner is your birth companion, learning how to properly support your needs, stay calm and guide you through the ups and downs of labor and birth. Relaxation is the key to a successful birth – when your body is relaxed, the proper hormones are released to ensure a comfortable, fast and even pain-free birth for you and your baby. Babies feel, they experience trauma during birth if they are not birthed into a calm and gentle atmosphere. With the right combination of chemicals, hormones and endorphines the body naturally releases during labor – the baby’s fontanels come together properly, your pelvis is soft and flexible and your body becomes open. Your baby and you work together in perfect harmony when you are mentally, physically and emotionally prepared and supported. When any form of fear is present in the birthing room, the unwanted amounts of adrenaline and other stress hormones are released and work against the body creating tension and pain and more fear. The blood in your uterus shunts to other parts of your body’s defense muscles leaving an inadequate amount of oxygen for your uterus and your baby. With the correct training, not only do you learn about natural birth options and formulating a birth plan, but you also learn these essential birthing techniques for you and your partner to work with. Labor is comparable to a marathon – you have to prepare ahead to condition the muscles used as well as your mind, it is a lot of work getting your mind and body ready. The big difference is, a marathon runner can give up, can stop – during your labor you have to keep going strong. Why not be prepared and conditioned?
